High-elasticity high-adhesion coating for rubbery and flexible substrates
Air-drying two-pack product; overcoatable.
Colours
Can be produced in many different colours, matched to any international chart or sample.
Uses
This is an excellent primer specifically formulated for rubbery and highly flexible substrates.
In the leather industry, it’s used to coat leather and imitation leather for decorative or repair purposes.
Excellent coating for coverings and protective sheathing made from rubber or other synthetic materials, as well as machine tools and sports equipment.
Used in the marine sector for coating rubber dinghies and in the automotive industry for producing the distinctive white walls on classic car tyres.
Performance
Extraordinary product whose main features are:
- adhesion to a variety of materials
- extremely high elasticity, responding well to bending and torsion
- great overcoatability
Treatment of surfaces to be coated
Can be used to coat a range of substrates: rubber, leather, imitation leather and numerous plastic polymers.
No matter what the substrate, it’s essential to clean the surface thoroughly, which can be done using degreasing detergents.
You may find it useful to sand plastic polymers where they have a particularly shiny and smooth surface.
Appliciation
Apply by spraying, using traditional airmix or airless spray guns, with nozzles measuring between 1.2 and 1.7 mm and air pressure set to 3-4 bar.
The thickness of the film to be applied varies depending on surface absorption and ranges from 20 microns to 100 microns or more, possibly applied in a number of coats, allowing 3-4 hours between one coat and the next.
The film air-dries at ambient temperature in approx. 60 minutes and can be overcoated after at least 3 hours.
If you have an oven or other heating systems, drying can be speeded up at a temperature of 50-70°C for 30 minutes.
