Treatment of surfaces to be coated
Wood should be treated according to traditional sanding techniques using abrasives to prepare the surface as required.
Application
The application method is the standard method for treating wood:
- sand down the surface
- apply the primer and sand the primer coat (this step may need to be repeated a number of times depending on the wood’s absorption)
- apply the topcoat over the primer once it has dried thoroughly and has been sanded with a fine grit
Both products should be applied by spraying; the coating’s consumption rate can range from 200 g/m2 to 500 g/m2 for the sandable primer (depending on surface absorption) and from 150 to 200 g/m2 for the topcoat.
Both air-dry quickly at ambient temperature.
