Sealant in cartridge form offering superior adhesion, elasticity and chemical resistance
Suitable for metal, fibreglass, plastics and wood; good overcoatability.
Colours
Available in classic black only.
Uses
This is a hi-tech product developed for sealing and gluing a variety of materials, even joining materials of different kinds.
It has been used in shipbuilding for years for panelling, tank covers and gluing components with a flexible joint.
In the motor industry, to seal the engine compartment and other parts that may be subjected to chemical attack.
Performance
The features that make this a one-of-a-kind product are:
- adhesion to most materials
- low modulus of elasticity, lasting stability
- chemical resistance to aggressive chemicals
- overcoatability with a variety of coatings
Treatment of surfaces to be coated
Surfaces to be coated must be thoroughly clean, free from grease, dirt, moisture and dust.
No special pretreatment is required on wood and fibreglass and the more common metals and plastics.
When dealing with stainless steel and other metals and substrates that have a highly shiny and reflective finish, it’s best to promote adhesion by abrasive blasting, sanding or brushing the surface.
Application
Comes in classic cartridge form for extrusion with a traditional gun.
Depending on the intended use, it can be applied in varying thicknesses, ranging from less than 1 mm if used as an adhesive, up to several centimetres if used as a filler and sealant on large structures and surfaces exposed to chemical attack and harsh environmental conditions.
Air-dries at ambient temperature, in a matter of minutes if applied thin, and in anything up to 6-plus hours for larger volumes. Overcoatable once dry.
