Uses

Designed for use as a basic adhesive in flocking operations employed in the design and car world.

Its adhesion to a variety of plastics has allowed the product to be introduced into various production cycles for treating glove compartments and car storage compartments in general, small design objects and collector’s items, eyewear, advertising material, and shop and exhibition fit-out furniture.

With its powerful gluing and sealing properties, it’s used to join plastics in various different sectors, such as food, plumbing and electronics.

Treatment of surfaces to be coated

It’s best applied to plastics that are free from dust, which can be removed with a jet of air.

Cleaning is best performed using anti-silicone cleaners or isopropyl alcohol

When coating metal, it’s important to make sure there are no traces of dirt, grease or corrosion on the surface. If the surface of the metal has a particularly shiny finish, abrasive blasting or sanding is recommended to promote better adhesion.

Application

The flock finish will look better if the product is applied by spraying, using normal guns with nozzles measuring between 1.2 and 1.7 mm.

The film to be applied should be approx. 70-80 microns thick minimum. For the product to attach the flocking polymer securely, the flock is best applied within 2 minutes of the coating being applied.

The same time guideline applies when using the product as an adhesive for plastic.

Dust-dry and touch-dry time is actually very short, at less than 10 minutes.
