High temperature, Silicone coating oven baked at 200°C, for metal subjected to temperatures as high as 650°C
For spray application only in a thin film, featuring great thermal, colour and mechanical performance.
ASTM certified as fire retardant.
Colours
Produced in many different shades of black, grey and metallic versions, with a maximum gloss level of 20.
Uses
It is the internationally recognized benchmark for manufacturers of household heating systems, stoves, fires and flue systems.
It is used widely in the car and motorcycle industry, for brake calipers and other parts exposed to heat.
It is used regularly in the petrochemical, aviation and rail industries.
Performance
It is the preferred choice in various sectors of industry due to its performance in terms of:
- heat resistance certified by the manufacturer
- extremely good adhesion
- hardness and scratch and abrasion resistance
- chemical and corrosion resistance
Treatment of surfaces to be coated
On commercial steel and aluminium, which have a slightly rough finish, it’s important to make sure the surface is thoroughly clean and hence features no traces of dirt, grease, dust, moisture or machining swarf.
Abrasive blasting and sanding are always recommended on all metals with a smooth and reflective surface and, more generally speaking, to promote optimum adhesion.
Application
Apply by spraying only, with airmix or airless equipment; electrostatic spraying is also an option. Use spray nozzles measuring between 1.2 and 1.7 mm and air pressure set to 3-4 bar.
It must be applied in a very thin film, not to exceed 30 microns. The product is oven cured at a temperature of at least 180°C, for 45 minutes minimum.
