High temperature, Air-drying metallic zinc-based coating, heat resistant to 600°C
Fast-drying product with good overcoatability. Good corrosion inhibitor; features excellent elasticity and good chemical resistance.
Colours
It comes in just one colour: metallic zinc grey with a very matt finish.
Uses
It’s used as an adhesion promoter and corrosion inhibitor in air-drying coating systems that prescribe the use of metallic zinc.
Widely used in coating treatments in large chemical plants, ironworks, steelworks and cement factories for coating metalwork exposed to very hot and corrosive environments.
Performance
This technology has proved very popular due to its:
- heat resistance certified by the manufacturer
- excellent adhesion and elasticity
- good anticorrosive properties
- good overcoatability
Treatment of surfaces to be coated
The metal to be treated should preferably be clean, free from dirt, grease, oil or residues of any nature.
To promote optimum adhesion, especially on shiny and reflective metals, it’s best to treat surfaces first by abrasive blasting, brushing or sanding.
Application
To achieve a high standard of finish, it’s best to use spray equipment – either airmix or airless – and fit the spray gun with nozzles measuring between 1.0 and 1.7 mm.
The product can also be applied by roller or brush, provided you’re careful to keep the film thickness even and below 40-50 microns in both cases.
Air-dries at ambient temperature and can be overcoated after a few hours.
