Air-drying dip coating for metal
Superior adhesion, even to unclean metal; elasticity and colour retention.
Colours
Comes in black version only, with semi-gloss finish.
Uses
Widely used as a protective coating on large-scale structural metalwork, power tools, machinery and metalwork in general.
Developed specially for large dip coating systems that handle bulky items that are hard to clean or coat with spraying techniques.
It is not designed to cope with aggressive environments and is not suitable as part of an anticorrosive system or for exposure outdoors for lengthy periods of time.
Performance
High-performance product, valued by industries for its:
- ability to adhere to the substrate, even when it hasn’t been cleaned thoroughly
- superior elasticity
- elegant finish
Treatment of surfaces to be coated
Its special properties mean it can adhere even to metal substrates that have not been cleaned thoroughly and are covered in a light dust or have a slight greasy residue on them.
Thorough cleaning is usually required to promote better adhesion where possible or, when dealing with shiny, reflective metal, the surface may need to be suitably prepared by abrasive blasting, brushing or sanding.
Application
It has been developed for dip coating systems.
Nonetheless, it can be applied by spraying – with normal airmix or airless guns, at low pressure using nozzles measuring between 1.2 and 2.0 mm – or by roller or brush.
For dip coating, bear in mind that the minimum film thickness is approx 40-50 microns. The resulting film dries in approx. 30 minutes, though drying can be speeded up in an oven at 50-70°C.
