- highly attractive aesthetic appearance
Treatment of surfaces to be coated
The surface can be cleaned with a normal degreasing wash to remove residual machining swarf, traces of dirt or grease and light coatings of dust.
No special mechanical pretreatment is required.
This sort of pretreatment is instead required when coating difficult metals or metals with a smooth, reflective surface (stainless steel, brass, etc.). In such cases, it’s best to blast with fine grit or sand the surface to promote better adhesion.
When coating plastics, clean surfaces thoroughly using anti-silicone and antistatic detergents. It doesn’t adhere to difficult plastics like Polypropylene or Polyethylene.
Application
Best applied by spraying, using normal airmix or airless equipment, fitting spray guns with nozzles measuring between 1.2 and 1.7 mm and setting air pressure to 3-4 bar.
Apply to a thickness of between 20 and 50 microns, in a number of coats. Air-dries in approx. 30 minutes; can be cured, where required, using an oven or other heating systems set to 50-80°C.
