- excellent for outdoor use, on surfaces exposed to direct sunlight and the elements
- surface hardness and elasticity
Treatment of surfaces to be coated
Commercial steel or aluminium usually just need a good clean to remove traces of dirt, grease and dust.
When dealing with more difficult metals or metals that have a shiny and very smooth finish, it’s best to promote adhesion by abrasive blasting, sanding or brushing the surface.
Plastics such as ABS and PVC don’t need any special pretreatment; the product adheres directly. When coating PC, PS or other polymers, it’s best to prepare the surface by sanding or applying the special K54 Duracril primer.
Application
Apply this finish by spraying only, using normal airmix or airless equipment; air pressure set to 3-4 bar and spray nozzles measuring between 1.2 and 1.7 mm.
Ideal thickness ranges from 30 to 60 microns and the product air-dries at ambient temperature in approx. 30-40 minutes; if you have heating systems, such as ovens or lamps, they must be set to a temperature of 50-70°C.
