The product’s main features are:
- direct adhesion to ABS, PVC, PC, PS
- high mechanical resistance to abrasion and wear
- excellent chemical resistance
Treatment of surfaces to be coated
The most common plastic polymers, such as ABS, PVC, PC and PS, do not need any special pretreatment. Simply clean surfaces thoroughly using anti-silicone and antistatic detergents.
When dealing with more difficult plastics, sanding may be required to scuff the surface and promote better adhesion.
Does not adhere to polypropylene or polyethylene. Materials of this kind need to be coated with the special K242 Acrilit PP primer first or will require pretreatment by flaming.
Application
The system comprises two products, to be applied by spraying with normal airmix or airless equipment, with air pressure set to 3-4 bar and using spray nozzles measuring between 1.2 and 1.5 mm.
One product serves as a coloured primer and air-dries in 30-40 minutes; to be overcoated with the topcoat.
The topcoat, providing the soft-touch appearance, must be dried in an oven at 80°C for 45-50 minutes.
